How to get admission into Central Universities through NTA CUET?

In recent news, the Ministry of Education has announced that interested students must appear for Common Entrance Test in order to get admission to Central Universities.

But due to the ongoing situation, few universities are yet to make the decision to accept CUET as their admission process. However, NTA CUET exam is made compulsory. 

45 Central Universities will conduct NTA CUET 2022 for offering admission to various UG courses. Since this is a new admission process for UG courses at central universities, you might have queries.

How to get admission to Universities conducting NTA CUET 2022?

There are a few stages included in the NTA CUET Admission process that must be followed carefully to get admission into the Central Universities. 

Eligibility

• Before you fill out the application, make sure to satisfy the eligibility criteria. 
• Each university has slight changes in the eligibility criteria for each course. Hence, check the detailed NTA CUET eligibility criteria 2022 for knowing the reservation of seats, age limit, and educational qualifications. 

Application Process

• Before filling out the form, you need to complete the registration process using a valid email id and phone number. 
• Using these credentials, you can fill out the NTA CUET Application Form 2022 with the right details.

• After the successful application process, you shall receive an SMS and email to your registered mobile number and email ID. 

NTA CUET Exam 2022

• Based on the successful application process, you shall receive your NTA CUET Admit Card 2022
• You need to appear for the online aptitude test NTA CUET. 
• This is an online mode of exam conducted for a total of 100 marks. 

Merit List

• Based on the test score, you shall be shortlisted for the counseling process.

How to get admission into new universities conducting NTA CUET 2022?

If you wish to get admission into any of the central universities, you need to appear for the counseling process after the NTA CUET 2022.

• Each participating university shall conduct the counseling process separately.  After clearing the entrance test, you need to register for the counseling process. 
• Based on the rank list released by the universities, you shall be invited to the counseling process.
• Universities shall also release cut-off marks for various courses separately. 
• The cut-off will be prepared based on various factors like availability of seats, candidates' performance in exams, etc.
• With the prescribed documents, you need to appear for counseling after registration.

As per the latest updates on CUET, the application form shall be released tentatively in June 2022. A single application form needs to be filled out to apply to various colleges. Along with various Central Universities, even Delhi University shall conduct the admission for their courses through NTA CUET.

Changes in Admission Process of Top 5 Universities

As CUET is introduced as an entrance exam for offering admission into the top 5 universities, there are many changes observed in the admission process. The below table shows a comparison of how the admission process was conducted earlier and how is it revised now.
