Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET) Eligibility Criteria 2023

Before proceeding with the NTA CUET Application Form, you must check whether you have satisfied the CUET eligibility criteria for 2023. We can expect that not many changes will be introduced to the eligibility requirements and reservation policies in the next academic year too.

Generally, the CUET 2023 eligibility criteria are defined under three parameters as mentioned below:

1 - CUET Age Limit 2023

Question - I am 23 years old. Am I eligible to apply? 

• According to the CUCET UG eligibility age limit, there is no age limit to apply for the entrance exam.
• However, you will be required to fulfill the age criteria (if any) of the particular university to which you desire to apply. 

2 - CUET Educational Qualification 2023

Question - I study in class 11. Can I appear in CUET 2023? 

• If you are applying for UG courses, you must have completed your class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognized university or board.
• As per the official notification, those who are appearing for the qualifying examination (12th exam) in 2023 are also eligible to apply for the Common Universities Entrance Test.

3 - Minimum Qualifying Marks 2023

Question - I scored 75 marks in class 12. Am I eligible to apply for the CUET exam? 

• You must have obtained a minimum qualifying score aggregate in class 12 or equivalent exam to be eligible for the Common Universities Entrance Test 2023 as prescribed by the respective university.
• However, the minimum qualifying marks vary for each participating university. Therefore, it is advised to visit the official website of the particular university you are willing to take admission for the particular course.

Also, note that the CUET attempt limit is "n" number of times. So you can attempt this exam as long as you clear the CUET eligibility criteria for 2022.

CUET Reservation Policy 2023

This section is very helpful for students who belong to backward classes, as they are rewarded with reservations. 

A certain percentage of seats are reserved for Indian Nationals belonging to certain reserved categories as per the rules prescribed by the Government of India.

However, in the case of the Central Universities, the reservation policy is applicable as per the rules of the respective university.

To claim the benefit of the reservation, you need to upload the required category certificate that should have been issued on or after 01 January 2023 in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India in the online application form.

CUET UG Eligibility Criteria 2023

To get admission to undergraduate courses at any one of the 90 CUET universities, you must appear for the CUET entrance test.

The admissions are solely based on your performance in the entrance exam, making it extremely important to prepare thoroughly. The CUET eligibility criteria for 2023 for various UG courses have been listed in the top 5 universities like DU, AMU, BHU, JMI, and JMU. 1. CUET 2023 Eligibility Criteria for Delhi University (DU)

The University of Delhi is one of the premier universities in the country. From the academic session of 2022-2023, the admissions to undergraduate courses at Delhi University are solely based on Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET) scores.

As per the CUET DU Eligibility Criteria, you must have appeared for the four exams in the CUET and scored minimum qualifying marks in the language test.

• One language paper (compulsory)
• Three domain subjects (compulsory)
• A Minimum of 30% percentage in the language paper

The above is the eligibility and general exam pattern you must follow to study at the Delhi university. Note that each UG course requires you to attend different domains/ subjects. 

2. CUET Eligibility Criteria 2023 for Banaras Hindu University (BHU)

The general CUET BHU Eligibility Criteria are categorized under four parameters, as explained below. However, the criteria vary for each program at the university.

• Age limit: Your age should be no more than 22 years as of 01 July 2023, which means you must have been born on or after 02 July 2000.
• Educational qualification: You must have completed class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognized university or board.
• Minimum qualifying marks: You will require to possess at least 50% aggregate marks in class 12.
• Required subjects in CUET: You must write one language paper, at least 2 subsections from section B, and a general aptitude test for the CUET exam.

3. Common Universities Entrance Test 2023 for Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)

Aligarh Muslim University is one of the leading and vibrant institutions for teaching, research, and innovation excellence.

To be eligible for the admission process at AMU, you must make sure to satisfy the following CUET AMU eligibility criteria:

• Educational qualification: You must have completed your class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognized board.
• Minimum qualifying marks: You will require a minimum score of 45% marks in the qualifying examination.
• Required subjects in CUET: You should opt for at least two subjects from section B and the general aptitude test in the CUET exam.

4. Common Universities Entrance Test 2023 for Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)

As we all know, JNU is considered to be the world-renowned center for teaching and research. The university offers various undergraduate courses based on CUET scores.

You must fulfill the following CUET JNU Eligibility Criteria 2023 to get admission to your desired course at the university.

• Educational qualification: You must have completed class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognized board/university.
• Minimum qualifying marks: You must have secured a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
• Required subjects in CUET: You must have appeared for at least one language paper from section 1A and the general aptitude test in the NTA CUET exam.

5. CUET Eligibility Criteria 2023 for Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI)

You should satisfy the following CUET criteria 2023 to be eligible for the admission process at Jamia Millia Islamia university.

• Educational Qualification: You must have completed class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board/ university.
• Minimum qualifying marks: According to the CUET JMI eligibility criteria, you will require at least 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
• Required subjects in CUET: You must have appeared for at least one language paper and a general aptitude test.

CUET PG Eligibility Criteria 2023

The CUET PG examination concluded successfully, and the results have also been published. M.A/M.Sc in Applied Criminology and Police Studies	Graduation in any discipline with at least 55% marks in aggregate. 5% relaxation to candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH categories.
M.Sc in Biochemistry	Must have qualified B.Sc (Hons.)/B.Sc in Botany/Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Zoology/Life Sciences/Chemistry or B.Voc in Biomedical Sciences with at least 50% marks in aggregate. 5% relaxation to candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH categories.
M.Sc in Biotechnology	Must have qualified B.Sc (Hons.)/B.Sc in Botany/Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Zoology/Chemistry or B.Voc in Biomedical Sciences/Industrial Waste Management with at least 50% marks in aggregate. 5% relaxation to candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH categories.
M.B.A	Has a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or any degree from a recognized university (or) Passed final exam from the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Cost and Works Accountants or Company Secretaries (or) Passed A.M.I.E (Engineering)
M.Com	Must have passed B.com (Hons.)/B.Com with at least 50% marks in aggregate. 5% relaxation to candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH categories. (or) Passed B.A(Hons.) CUET Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria 2023

Like PG courses, Ph.D. courses are included, and NTA offers admissions through CUET. Here are the expected CUET eligibility criteria 2023 for Ph.D. courses.

• You should have a Master’s degree in any stream with a minimum of 55% marks for General category applicants, 50% for OBC category applicants, and 45% for SC/ ST/ PWD category applicants.
• If you have cleared UGC-CSIR JRF, GATE, NBHM, or qualified in any other National level Exam, you are exempted from appearing in the entrance exam.

Generally, CUET exam age limit is not specified unless the college mentions a particular age criterion.
